Just a Southern Belle

Well hello everyone! I'm Molly... that's Oaks Mean Molly by birth, but you can just call me Miss Molly. I don't know about all this fancy internet and blog stuff but my foster mama insists that there are lots of people out there with hearts just set on hearing all about little ol' me! Now, it doesn't seem lady-like to me to be bragging but I'm told that I should set off to tellin' you all about my good looks and perfect house manners. I do apologize that it has taken me so long to come around to introducing myself but my goodness there have been some big changes in my life and I just had to take a little time to get settled in. I'm no stranger to change though, you see this isn't my first retirement. I was a racing girl in my younger days, fast as the wind! But a belle like me has other ambitions than running in circles chasing a stuffed bunny so I moved on out to the farm and raised me up some young'uns.  Now that my babies are all grown up and living their own happy lives it's time for this mama to find a nice comfy little retirement home. Being here with my foster family is awful nice, the other hounds and the little beagle here are ever so gracious to share their home with me but I do believe I would just love to have a people family of my very own! Now I don't need any fancy accommodation, I just want to find some people to love on. Another hound to keep me company when the people are out or to play a little chase with in the yard might be nice too.  And I don't know but after raising my own pups I imagine people young'uns would be just as darling and I might not mind watching over one or two of those as they are growing up. (I may be starting my second retirement but I've still got lots of life and a little spunk to run now and again too!) Yes, that would be very nice, but all I really need is someone to love and a cozy place to nap.  I like to retreat to a kennel to nap alone sometimes but when the family is around I enjoy being near them so I am becoming an expert at making a perfect napping nest with just a soft blanket close by to wherever they are. Well, I do hope that someone out there is looking for a southern mama dog to join your family. If you are then just drop a line to the good folks at Greyt Expectations Greyhound Rescue, I can't wait to meet y'all!  Now foster mama has been taking pictures so you can see how I enjoy living here in a people house, I sure hope she got my good side!  Well here you go, this is me... and I'll check in with you all again soon!

I do love lovins! Here I'm hugging the resident teenager after we had a walk together-- she called it jogging- it seemed pretty slow to me, but then again I am a greyhound.

Having a group nap-- the beagle up front, me in the middle, and the resident girl hound in the back
